AUGUST SALES ANALYSIS

What a thrilling month August was for car auctions with over 4500 vehicles being sold in online auctions, which is 500+ more than in July!

Below are the top 10 most expensive sales of the month.

The highlight of the month was undoubtedly the 1976 Porsche 934 Race Car. Its distinct allure and celebrated history crowned it as the top sale of the month, fetching a remarkable $1,550,000.

Not far behind was the 2021 Ford GT ’66 Heritage Edition 🏁, an embodiment of contemporary engineering boasting advanced features and a distinct design, which sold for $1,385,000. Following closely, its kin, the 2019 Ford GT 🚀, commanded a price of $945,269, further emphasizing Ford's dedication to continuous evolution and innovation.

The 1958 Ferrari Testa Rossa 🏎️, an emblematic vehicle recognized for its potent performance and timeless aesthetics, secured a notable $800,000.

Steering our focus away from the obvious highlights, an intriguing find emerged. The 427 fe Side-Oiler-Powered Superformance GT40 MKII from Ford stood out as a significant sale. This particular Superformance GT40 MKII is a right-hand-drive model ordered in 2004 and delivered to its first owner in 2007. Notably, it played a pivotal role in cinema, providing the audio recordings for the GT40-related soundtrack for the acclaimed 2019 movie "Ford v Ferrari".

For the aficionados of numbers, the cumulative value of vehicles auctioned across all platforms surpassed an astounding $185 million, 20 million more than the previous month.

Moreover, the average price of the vehicles auctioned was close to $42K.

Bring A Trailer are still streets ahead of the rest of the market in terms of pure sale numbers. For the statisticians amongst you BaT had 4.68 more sales than their nearest competitor, Cars & Bids.
