The Daily Vroom

Good Morning Vroomers

Welcome to today’s newsletter and a huge welcome to all our new readers. For those that don’t know me, I’m Sam, the founder and writer of The Daily Vroom.

I love receiving emails from the community letting me know what you enjoy and sometimes don’t enjoy, keep em coming!

Today’s edition is short compared to some of our previous editions, but it’s definitely eye-opening. I’ve shared yesterday’s raw numbers that most platforms won’t show, along with some key insights into yesterday’s record-setting day.

MARKET LEADERBOARD

💰 The figures shared below don’t count any other sales such as car seats, memorabilia etc..

I only include websites that have sold 5+ cars in the chart below. Which means Hagerty, PCarMarket and many others did not sell 5 cars yesterday!

Just when you thought things were getting a bit too quiet, the online car auction scene just flipped the script!

Remember how I mentioned yesterday that things were about to get exciting? Well, they just did—in a BIG way. Today wasn't your ordinary auction day. We saw a triple play of million-dollar babies crossing the finish line.

The last few days we had $5.5m worth of sales. Well yesterday get ready for it we saw $12.3m worth of sales. Which is more than we saw for Monday & Tuesday combined. It was the biggest sales day since I’ve started The Daily Vroom. 💥

Yesterday Bring a Trailer led the charge with total sales amounting to $7.3m, averaging $79k per sale across their platform. The day was characterized by a notable demand for rare and high-performance vehicles, with the sales covering a broad spectrum of makes and models, indicating a robust and varied market interest. This trend was particularly evident in the six and seven-figure sales bracket, where we observed a keen interest in modern performance cars and well-preserved vintage models alike. Porsche models were among the highlights, reflecting the brand's continued strong standing in the collector's market.

Overall, the combined sales across the platforms underline a healthy and active market, with a total of 18 cars selling for six or seven figures, showcasing the substantial interest in exclusive and top-tier vehicles. The online auction market is 🚀.
