Two Hypercars That Are Breaking Every Limit

PLUS: This Audi R8 Proves Why Gated Is Gold

The Daily Vroom

Good morning, Vroomers!

I don’t usually dive into the general car news cycle—plenty of others do a great job covering that. But lately, it feels like car manufacturers are making headlines everywhere (and not just Tesla, which seems to live in the spotlight).

Take Jaguar, for example. Once known for space, pace, and grace, now it feels more like haste, waste, and questionable taste. People are still talking about them, though—guess we’ll see if they can claw their way back.

Then there’s Nissan. Rumors flying around that they’re on their last legs, but from what I’m hearing, they’re not going anywhere anytime soon. And GM? They just pulled the plug on Cruise, their self-driving car company. Love it or hate it, we all know where this is heading—self-driving Teslas dominating our streets. It’s the inevitable direction of new cars.

But here at The Daily Vroom, our focus stays where it belongs: the thriving market for the incredible cars hitting auctions daily. That’s the future we care about, and it’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

MARKET LEADERBOARD

💰 The figures shared below don’t count any other sales such as car seats, memorabilia etc… All online auction sites are analyzed to put this leaderboard together.

I only include websites that have sold 5+ vehicles in the chart below.

Yesterday's sell-through rate was impressive, especially for the top two platforms. I can’t recall the last time BaT had so few RNM listings. However, as you'll see below with the top 5 sales, the total sales volume—just over $5 million—was on the lower side. It’s just one of those days.

YESTERDAY’S TOP 5 SALES

Not exactly the blockbuster sales we're used to. In fact, there wasn't much to write home about in yesterday's auctions. Congrats to PCarMarket for topping the list, and kudos to Cars & Bids and SOMO for breaking BaT's usual dominance of the top 5 sales this week.

5k-Mile 2018 Porsche 991.2 GT3 Touring $207,000

2016 Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS $178,000

2005 Ferrari F430 Coupe 6-Speed Conversion $139,000

2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible $136,000

2012 2k-Mile Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 $134,000

Sale of the Day

The other day we were talking about the value of cars, either as an investment or just a good (or not so good) price to buy. Well, here's another one to add to the mix.

This stunning 2011 Audi R8 V10 coupe just sold for $128,000. What's interesting is that sales for this gated model have been pretty consistent, which is great news for sellers. The biggest factors affecting price seem to be mileage, options, and color. This particular R8 had about 6k views, while another one on Cars & Bids with slightly lower mileage sold for $135,000 but had a whopping 22k views. This raises the question: is getting more views on C&B an outlier or the norm? Well, I took a quick look at the top 5 sales on both platforms yesterday. While BaT did see slightly more average views, it's important to remember they usually have double the traffic. So, while the difference in views is noticeable, it's not as significant as it might seem.

Of course, analyzing just 5 sales isn't a definitive data set. But it's a start. While it's often said that "views are vanity, sales are reality," I believe that the view count can still give us some clues. In this case, it might suggest that the sheer volume of auctions on BaT could dilute the attention given to each individual listing, whereas C&B's smaller selection allows for more focused attention on each car.

I'll be digging deeper into this topic in a future analysis.

Auctions To Keep An Eye On

Hypercars are not typically my thing. I haven’t spent much time covering them here at The Daily Vroom, but today, I’m making an exception for two jaw-dropping examples of engineering brilliance. These cars are on a different level, and honestly, I’m as intrigued as you might be. Let’s take a look at the 2023 Rimac Nevera Time Attack and the 2022 Zyrus Stimolante LP1020.

This one is as cutting-edge as they come. Rimac has been redefining the hypercar game, and the Nevera Time Attack is their pièce de résistance. Powered by four electric motors producing 1,914 horsepower, it rockets from 0–60 mph in 1.85 seconds and hits a top speed of 218 mph. If you’re a numbers person, those are jaw-dropping.

What makes this car even more fascinating is its versatility. It’s not just a track weapon—it has an EPA range of 297 miles, so it’s usable in the real world too. Finished in a stunning Lightning Green with advanced aerodynamic tweaks, it’s as much a showpiece as it is a performance beast.

This Nevera is a rare combination of cutting-edge technology and brutal power. Keep an eye on it.

Now, this one comes from a name I’ve barely crossed paths with: Zyrus Engineering, a Norwegian outfit that took the Lamborghini Huracán EVO RWD and turned it into something unrecognizable. The Stimolante LP1020 packs a 5.2L twin-turbo V10 cranking out 1,090 horsepower and a top speed of 215 mph.

But it’s not just raw power. Zyrus put this machine through 18,000 kilometers of track testing to fine-tune every bolt, and the results speak for themselves: a Nürburgring prototype lap of 6:48 and a hill-climb record that put on of my favorite cars, the Porsche GT2 RS to shame.

What sets the Stimolante apart, it’s road-legal. That’s right, all this track-ready madness has TÜV certification, making it a car you can drive to the grocery store—if you’re feeling bold. The #2 of only 24 produced, it’s finished in White with a Black Alcantara interior and comes with bespoke details like a carbon-fiber aero kit and a custom dual exhaust system.

It’s an ultra-rare opportunity to own a handcrafted Norwegian hypercar with Lamborghini DNA.

Why These Cars Matter

These hypercars represent two sides of the same coin: the Rimac pushing the boundaries of electric innovation, and the Zyrus blending old-school combustion with modern engineering. Both are testaments to the relentless drive for speed, power, and exclusivity that defines the hypercar world.

Even if hypercars aren’t your thing, (they’re not mine) these two are worth a closer look.
