The Most Insane Lamborghini You'll Ever See 👀
PLUS: The first $1m+ sale of the year online...Will it lead to more?
The Daily Vroom
Good morning Vroomers!
It’s been a lively few days, with plenty of opinions flooding in about what Hagerty should do next with their auctions. Thank you all for your emails—I always appreciate hearing your thoughts.
In other big news, we finally saw our first $1M+ online sale of the year. As I mentioned earlier, I was hoping this would happen soon, and let’s hope it becomes the catalyst for more major sales to follow.
On the manufacturer side, GM finds itself in hot water with the FTC for allegedly sharing drivers' precise location and driving behavior data without consent. Not great timing for them—and I’m guessing they’re not the only ones doing this.
But let’s end on a high note: the craziest Lamborghini I’ve ever seen is ending its auction today, and the finale promises to be nothing short of epic. Don’t miss it.
Have a great weekend!
MARKET LEADERBOARD
💰 The figures shared below don’t count any other sales such as car seats, memorabilia etc… All online auction sites are analyzed to put this leaderboard together.
I only include websites that have sold 5+ vehicles in the chart below.
It seems that so far this month, buyers have largely been staying away from most platforms, with the exception of Cars & Bids (which has been selling nearly everything they list) and BaT. Maybe—just maybe—some of the smaller platforms should consider joining forces?? Though, let’s be honest, that’s unlikely with so many vested interests in each individual platform. (will have to write up an article about all those vested interests!)

Sale of the Day
Sometimes, timing is everything in the auction world. We've talked recently about how crucial it is for sellers to strike while the iron is hot, as second chances are rarely guaranteed. But here's an example of a seller who managed to defy the odds and come out ahead. (just)
This Corvette first hit the auction block back in September, where it climbed to $111,066 but fell short of the reserve. Rather than walking away from the market entirely, the seller made a bold move—relisting the car at no reserve. It was a calculated risk, and it paid off. The car sold for $112,000, slightly higher than the first round but, more importantly, it found a new home.
The takeaway? Auctions are about momentum and strategy. A no-reserve listing can be a double-edged sword, but for the right car, it can generate the buzz needed to seal the deal. It’s also a reminder that sometimes you need to let go of the idea of the "perfect price" to achieve the ultimate goal: a sale.
Of course, I can’t not write about the car itself. A 427 big-block C2 Corvette in Rally Red isn’t just a car to me—it’s a time machine. It’s the kind of machine that makes you stop, stare, and remember why you fell in love with cars in the first place.

Auctions To Keep An Eye On
I’m not usually a big hypercar fan—they often feel more like engineering exercises than cars you actually connect with. But this SF90 Stradale Assetto Fiorano, it’s different. The combination of nearly 1,000 horsepower, that insane 2.5-second 0-60 time, and Ferrari’s racing soul packed into a plug-in hybrid is impossible to ignore. And in Rosso Corsa with just 147 miles on the clock, it’s got presence in spades. Even for someone like me, this one’s hard not to admire.
Since we're on hypercars and supercars, let’s talk about this absolutely wild machine. The 2024 Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato is hands down one of the craziest Lambos I’ve ever seen—a lifted, armored Huracan with rally mode. Basically, it’s a supercar built to tear up dirt roads, and somehow, it just works.
Finished in Verde Agave and packed with $170k in options, it’s got the perfect mix of insanity and brilliance. With under 400 miles and even a ski rack (yes, really), this Sterrato isn’t just a car; it’s a statement. It’s so insane, it’s actually made me like it.
