LAST WEEK'S ONLINE AUCTION SALES
The previous week, we witnessed a higher volume of cars sold compared to previous weeks, along with higher-priced sales. However last week, the overall volume of sales has decreased and so has the total 💰 spent on the auctions.
Below are the ten most expensive cars sold online last week. Ferrari once again had more than one car in the top 10. Since our first post on March 22nd this is the first time, I've seen an Aston Martin or an Alfa appear in the top 10. Trends suggest that this won't be a regular occurence and will only happen if a 'special' car comes up for auction.

TOP SELLING MAKES
I analysed every single make and model that was sold last week. Below are the makes that sold more than 20 cars. Just because, I was interested to see if any of the websites sell many Tesla's. Living in LA, every 2nd car seems to be one. Only 3 were sold last week, all by Cars & Bids.

SALES ANALYSED

There are two 'Porsche websites' PCarMarket & Marqued. Neither of these two sites sold any of the top 10 most expensive Porsche's last week.
9 out of the top 10 were sold by Bring A Trailer, and 9 out of the top 10 were 911's.
It just so happens that the one Porsche that isn't sold by BaT, which was sold by Collecting Cars is the non-911 car, the 718 Cayman. So if you have a 911 for sales, the data from last week tells us that BaT is the site to go with.

Mercedes-Benz has always been a popular car. From the table you can there the SL is the most popular model. I did a little further digging and found that out of the 70 cars sold last week over half were SL.
However what is not as clear, is the websites that sell the most Mercedes-Benz. In the top 10 we have 4 different websites that have sold one of these cars. They are Cars & Bids, Catawiki, Collecting Cars & Bring A Trailer. No clear winner here.

Not surprisingly the 3 series was the popular model sold last week across all 62 sales. The top 5 sales listed above all came from different websites, which shows there is no real market leader when it comes to selling BMW's. In fact, you might be a little shocked to find out that PCarMarket and Catawiki (in that order) were the top 2. Are you following both these sites?

COMPARING THE COMPETITORS

I've had a few comments asking why don't I analyse the sales from other websites.
The simple answer is. I DO. I analyse EVERY auction website, but I only show the stats for websites that sell 50 or more cars in one week, otherwise I'd be showing a very long list of random sites that sell 1 or 2 cars.
With that out of the way. I would like to thank our U.K. friends Collecting Cars & Car & Classic for making me earn my chops (even though I don't earn any money from this) by selling cars in three different currencies. 😕
Now to the numbers.📊 BaT of course sell a boatload of cars 7 days a week, all at a very decent average price.
Cars & Bids like last week came in 2nd place for volume of cars sold. They are averaging 20 sales a day with a high sell through rate. However their average sale price as we've talked about in the past is no-where near the top 2.
In the battle of the U.K. Car & Classic just edged Collecting Cars in terms of volume. Their average selling price though is still low (even with the improvement they had this week). Collecting Cars are KILLING it with their average selling price. Nearly $16k higher than BaT.
It would be really interesting to know if they could keep up that average if they sold even double what they are selling today?
