A brand new week is upon us! Lots of awesome car content coming your way this week.

For those of you that are new at The Daily Vroom, we're like Switzerland, completely neutral when it comes to car auction platforms. We don't play favorites, we just want to share with you all the cool cars up for grabs, as well as give a shout-out to the more absurd rides and prices out there.

LAST WEEK’S POLL RESULTS

Just before we get to today's action, I ran this poll last week. The results were 100% of those who filled in the poll want to see more affordable cars on The Daily Vroom. Seems clear to me…

As one person put it ‘Hell yes, let's talk about what the average guy can afford..’ So with that being said, I’ll be covering both the more affordable end of the market and the higher end. I mean who doesn’t wanna salivate over some of those higher end cars.

PONTIAC FIREBIRD SALES

I was taking a stroll through downtown Los Angeles with the fam (don’t want to get political here, but my oh my, downtown is a big old mess!) this weekend thinking which cars should I feature this week and low and behold the house parked on the street was this beautiful 89 Firebird. I couldn’t have been given a clearer sign what to write about next!

So once I returned home, I put my inspector clouseau hat on and delved into the numbers.

There were 17 Firebirds sold last month at an average sale price of $29,218. Now that doesn’t mean too much unless we have some stats to compare it to.

In the previous month March there were 12 Firebird sold at an average sale price of $24,513. In February there were 10 sales at an average sale price of $23,255.

Are more affordable cars coming on the market as the economy gets worse? Time will tell. What I can tell you is that there are 10 currently up for auction like this 1968 Pontiac Firebird Convertible available here.

CRAZY SALE OF THE WEEK

This high mileage 1983 DeLorean DMC-12 5-Speed sold on BaT for $63,000.

TOYOTA FJ40 LAND CRUISER’S

Continuing our theme of showing more affordable, and still cool 😎 vehicles, below we have the April stats for the FJ40 Land Cruiser sales from April. Since all the model are ‘pretty’ similar, (manual, LHD) I’ve shown you the websites who sold the vehicles.

For those that don’t know - the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 is a legendary vehicle that has earned a reputation as one of the toughest and most reliable off-road vehicles ever produced. Manufactured from 1960 to 1984.

Whether you're driving through deep mud, over rocky terrain, or up steep inclines, the FJ40 can handle it all. Its four-wheel drive, solid axles, and leaf springs make it a force to be reckoned with off-road, and its classic design has made it a favorite among collectors and off-road enthusiasts alike.

I’ve been in one of these beauties in the San Juan Mountains and I can tell you that it can handle pretty much anything.

One note I would have is that if you’re in the market for one, most say restored but in reality often they are not restored and just repainted. As always, regardless of the site it’s being sold on, do your research and ask lots of questions.
