Top Weekend Sales

Weekends aren’t for buying cars, right? Well, Collecting Cars and BaT would beg to differ—they absolutely crush it while others take the weekend off. The extra revenue they’ve pulled in just on Saturday & Sunday is mind-blowing. They are basically the only games in town. Maybe in 2025, we’ll see others catch on. I’ll share more on that soon, but for now, let’s check out the weekend’s top sales.

Spoiler: Collecting Cars had a big one—congrats to them!

Three Auctions To Keep An Eye On Ending Today

Let’s start off with one of the best!

The 1991 Lamborghini Diablo is everything I love about classic supercars—wild, unapologetic, and dripping with character. That naturally aspirated 5.7L V12 paired with an open-gate manual. It’s what driving dreams are made of, delivering 485PS in the most thrilling, visceral way. And let’s not ignore the looks—bold yellow paint, gunmetal mirrors, and that Koenig Specials wing make it as striking as they come.

What really stands out to me is its journey. Originally sold in Sweden, it’s now back in Italy, the home of Lamborghini. There’s something special about a Diablo tearing through the roads it was born for—it feels right. With just 59K km and a €23,000 service under its belt, it’s sorted and ready to roar.

This car isn’t just a collector’s piece—it’s a statement. A reminder of when supercars were raw, thrilling, and full of soul. If I could, I’d be on the first flight to Italy to drive it myself. For me, this Diablo is Lamborghini at its absolute best.

The 1955 Jaguar XK140 MC Roadster is when Jaguar started getting it right. The XK120 stunned the world, but the XK140 refined the formula—better handling, more power, and added creature comforts without losing that undeniable charm. This car feels like Jaguar finding its stride, paving the way for the iconic E-Type that followed. Today Jaguar is… (fill in the blank) 😢

This particular XK140 is something special. Finished in its original Pastel Blue with a dark blue interior, it’s as elegant as they come. But it’s not all about looks—this one has the sought-after MC package with the C-Type cylinder head and overdrive, giving it the performance to match its pedigree.

Its history is equally impressive: a California car with a nut-and-bolt restoration that earned a 99.7-point score at JCNA Concours. Decades later, it still holds up as a well-maintained, show-ready example that you can also drive and enjoy.

For me, the XK140 represents a moment in time when Jaguar was figuring out how to merge racing DNA with luxury and refinement. It’s not the E-Type, but it’s the step that made the E-Type possible. Owning this car is owning a chapter of Jaguar’s journey to greatness.

I’m loving this no reserve auction, really loving! This 1992 BMW M5 Touring is BMW at its absolute best—power, precision, and practicality wrapped in one rare package. Only 891 built, none sold in the U.S., and this one’s finished in stunning Avus Blue with the Nürburgring Package. That 3.8L straight-six paired with a 5-speed manual? Pure driving joy.

This isn’t a showpiece—it’s been driven and loved, with some honest wear to prove it. But that’s what makes it special. It’s a wagon that can haul groceries one day and dominate backroads the next. Rare, purposeful, and ridiculously cool—this is the ultimate enthusiast’s sleeper.
