MARKET LEADERBOARD

💰 The figures shared below don’t count any other sales such as car seats, memorabilia etc..

I only include websites that have sold 5+ cars in the chart below. Which means Hagerty, Hemmings and many others did not sell 5 cars yesterday!

While yesterday's sales totaled 'just' $5.8 million, it's noteworthy that this marks a modest uptick from the previous Monday—a day traditionally known for slower sales compared to the rest of the week. After previewing the vehicles lined up for auction this week, I'm anticipating some significant transactions on the horizon.

WEEKEND EXCEPTIONAL SALE

🚗 1991 Ferrari F40 Sale Summary 🚗

What a great way to start of the month!

The iconic 1991 Ferrari F40, a stalwart of the Enzo-era supercar lineage, was recently snapped up for a whopping $2,056,500 on Collecting Cars. 🤑 This particular vehicle stands out in the market, with only one or two of its kind being auctioned online annually. Despite its relatively ‘high’ mileage, it fetched a remarkable price, easily surpassing a similar model's sale at a physical auction house by $300,000 last year.

A few standout details about this car:

  • Engine: A roaring 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8, boasting approximately 478hp. 🚀

  • Transmission: Smooth five-speed manual.

  • Provenance: Originally a gift to Austria, later gracing the UK in December 1996. It has seen only two proud UK keepers, with the current owner cherishing it for 18 memorable years.

  • Mileage: A well-traveled 28,783 Km.

  • Maintenance: A notable engine rebirth in 2008 by Ferrari's revered Classiche department, and a thorough service in January 2022. 🛠️

  • Features: Crafted with a blend of Nomex, Kevlar, and carbon-fibre composite, it dons a vibrant Rosso Corsa attire. Inside, you're greeted by plush red Alcantara seats embroidered with a custom ‘F40’ logo.

  • History: This F40 took the limelight, gracing the covers of Evo magazine not once, but twice! It was also the chosen steed for Chris Harris in a video racing alongside the supercar elites.

Given its meticulous upkeep, its star-studded history, and its unmatched iconic status, this F40 isn't just a car - it's a legend for supercar enthusiasts and collectors alike. 🌟

PCARMARKET SEPTEMBER SALES

Founded as a boutique outfit, PCarMarket has a storied history of catering to discerning automotive enthusiasts, providing a platform for the sale of high-priced and unique vehicles, specifically focusing on Porsche. Over the years, the brand has cultivated a reputation for curating a selection of top-tier cars, ensuring that both buyers and sellers have a seamless experience.

This September, PCarMarket continued its tradition of excellence. The marketplace saw a total of 65 vehicles change hands, accumulating sales worth a commendable $5,637,068. The average sale price of a vehicle for the month stood at a robust $86,724.12. These figures underscore PCarMarket's commitment to quality and its position as a preferred destination for premium car transactions.

Saying all that, overall sales did decline from the previous two months. Is that due to increased competition or just that sellers haven’t caught up with the current market prices?

September was a remarkable month for PCarMarket, marked by a series of outstanding transactions that underscored the platform's stature in the premium vehicle segment. At the pinnacle of these sales was the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, which commanded an impressive $1,320,000. This legendary supercar, with its awe-inspiring design and performance, exemplified the caliber of vehicles that PCarMarket proudly hosts.

But it wasn't just modern marvels that captivated audiences. The classic 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 MFI Coupe fetched a respectable $232,000, serving as a testament to Porsche's enduring appeal and rich racing lineage. Similarly, the 1998 Porsche 993 Carrera S, representing the last of the air-cooled 911s, found a new home for $175,000, reminding enthusiasts of a golden era in automotive history.

September's numbers at PCarMarket were clear: Porsche was in a league of its own. Dominating the sales, Porsche proved once again why it's a top choice for buyers on the platform. BMW secured the second spot, but the gap between first and second was more than noticeable. While BMW had its fair share of enthusiasts, it was nowhere close to the traction Porsche gained this month. Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and Jaguar also made their marks, but the story was all about Porsche's unmatched appeal.

Navigating through PCarMarket's sales data is like taking a trip down memory lane. Let's talk 1972. It wasn't just a good year for rock music; it was also a standout year for Porsche sales on the platform. Why? Well, back in '72, Porsche made some nifty changes to their 911 model. They shifted the oil tank around a bit, which may sound minor, but it made the car handle better on the road. That year saw the highest number of Porsches being sold in September on PCarMarket.

But when you look at the average prices over the years, there's a bit of a rollercoaster ride. Some years, like 2005, had the prices shooting up, due to some high-end models being on the market. But on average, prices seems to have steadied, even though the love for Porsches remains as strong as ever. Will be interesting to analyze the whole Porsche market to see which years are still very strong.

This month, they’ve started out reasonably strong, selling 4 out of 9 listings yesterday, with a value of car sales at $355k. With 8/9 listings a day this week, I hope we can continue to see improving sales for PCarMarket.

Three More Porsche’s!!

NEARLY SALE OF THE DAY

🚗 1957 Dual-Ghia Convertible

Link to auction here.

This beauty is a rare gem; one of roughly 115 convertibles ever made. A blend of Italian artistry (thanks to Ghia) and Detroit muscle, courtesy of Dual Motors Corporation. Born from the inspiration of Chrysler’s Firearrow show cars, she entered the stage in 1956 as the Dual-Ghia. 🌟

Rocking a slick dark blue exterior with a complementary soft blue top, and inside? A classy cream and blue combo. Under the hood, she boasts a 315ci Dodge V8 - all spruced up and roaring! 🐯 Oh, and for those who love the old-school vibes, she's got power windows and a classic Town & Country AM radio.

She's seen some roads with just a smidge under 27k miles. And while she got a facelift in the 2010s, from paint to those shiny chrome hubcaps, she's kept her vintage charm.

Now, here's where it gets interesting. She was on the block with a high bid of $415,000 on October 2nd. No takers at that price. But, between you and me, I think she's worth way more. And my spidey senses? 🕷️ They're telling me a different day ending might have landed her a new home. Just a hunch!

Do you think seller should have sold for $415,000?

Did you know? The seller, who's legit one of the top guns on BaT, had six 🔥 auctions wrap up yesterday. And guess what? Four of them got snapped up! That's some solid hustle right there. 🚗💨
