  • 🚙 Ten Most Expensive Cars Sold Yesterday

  • 🤺 How All The Top Companies Faired Against Each Other

  • 🦄 Unique & Special Cars Up For Auction

  • 🤝 Vroomy Deal Of The Day

Yesterday marked a 'unique' milestone for us here at The Daily Vroom. For the first time since we launched (all of 2 weeks!!) two of the top 10 most expensive cars sold on that day were priced below $100,000. Additionally, the combined sales value of the top 10 cars reached a record low of $1,590,652.

Yesterday we touched on how sales were down across the board for the last few weeks, is this trend continuing or could it be that Monday tends to be a slower day for sales. Lets see what today bring us.

YESTERDAY'S LEADING COMPANIES

In analysing all the online auction websites' sales yesterday, I couldn't help but notice a clear frontrunner in terms of volume: Bring A Trailer. For those who've been with us since the beginning, you may observe that this marks Car & Classic's debut appearance in one of our tables. If you're not yet acquainted with Car & Classic, they're a UK-based platform, much like Collecting Cars, with a fascinating origin story that we'll dish on in a future newsletter.

A spirited rivalry seems to be brewing between these two British titans. However, it's worth mentioning that the average selling price on Collecting Cars consistently outshines Car & Classic's and, as of yesterday, even eclipsed BaT by over $20K!

Should BaT be quaking in their boots? Well, not quite, as the sales volume between the two isn't even in the same league.

Digging deeper reveals that Bring A Trailer continues to reign supreme when it comes to the top 10 most expensive cars sold. In fact analysing the top 5 sales of the year, only one was not Bring A Trailer and that one was actually Pcarmarket! So, for now, the throne 👑 remains unthreatened.

VROOMY DEAL OF THE DAY

Check this budget-friendly blast from the past! Yesterday, BaT showcased that they don't just cater to deep pockets, with the sale of this charming 1986 Honda CRX Si for a mere $5,969. Don't let its price tag fool you, this little red rocket packs a punch.

Here's the scoop on this fun-sized flashback:

  • Vintage 1986 Honda CRX Si with a fuel-injected 1.5-liter inline-four engine

  • Five-speed manual transaxle for that authentic driving experience

  • Funky two-tone cloth upholstery, adding character to the interior

  • Complete with air conditioning and a Sony CD stereo, because who doesn't love a good throwback jam? 💿

This plucky CRX Si has traveled from Illinois to New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, before being scooped up by its lucky new owner in 2023. Despite a few cosmetic quirks and its sunroof being permanently sealed, this classic Honda is proof that you don't need to break the bank to snag a piece of automotive history.
