LETS TALK LAND ROVER DEFENDER'S
If you love off-road driving then you have to be a big fan of the Land Rover Defender. It was and is such a versatile SUV with every single component & mounting point being able to be easily unbolted. They're just a dream to drive. 😴
In the wonderful world of online auctions, over 180 Land Rovers have found new homes in 2023, and guess what? 87 of them were the mighty Defenders! So, I thought, why not take a fun, deep dive into the data ocean and see if we can spot any juicy trends? These trends could make your buying or selling journey a breeze, or if you're just a curious observer (like yours truly), they might add an extra pinch of excitement to our Land Rover-loving lives!
1992 Land Rover Defender 110 sold for $189,000 on BaT
Since January 1st, the average selling price of a Defender is $48,357.
In January the average selling price was $36,205, February was $45,543 & in March there was a steep decline to $35,359. However, thus far in April it's over $60k.
I'm not really sure we can read too much into the ups & downs other than different models selling at different times. I didn't want to go too granular into the weeds with 90 vs 110 or soft top v hard top.
If you have any questions about specific models, I'd be happy to answer them (just email me)
Below are the top most expensive 2023 Land Rover Defender's sales.
If you're looking to buy or sell a Defender which website would you/ should you go to?
Being an iconic British brand, now owned by Jaguar, itself owned by Tata Motors an Indian, (it's all very confusing) it's no surprise that the U.K. is where most of the sales occurred, with Collecting Cars leading the charge with 78 Defender's sold.
Most of us probably don't follow Catawiki as closely as other sites, since they don't just auction cars. But interestingly they do sell quite a lot of cars, mainly in Europe with the Defender being a model that has done well for them this year.
Just for a bit of fun of for those data nerds out there like me, I wanted to know if Green was going to be the most popular color. The answer for those that are interested is yes! Green was by far the most popular color of Defender sold thus far in 2023!
