🚀 May Ferrari Sales: In-Depth Analysis of $13.4M Sales

PLUS: Read which platform is dominating Ferrari sales...

The Daily Vroom

Good morning, Vroomers!

Every now and then, we like to mix things up here at The Daily Vroom to keep things interesting!

Today, we're diving into Ferrari's activities over the past month. No, not the LaFerrari successor (which I'm eagerly awaiting!), but their online sales. We'll look at what's selling, at what prices, and who's selling them.

Tomorrow, we'll be back to our regular programming. 😀

Catch you tomorrow, Sam

May Ferrari Sales

Ferrari’s have been absolutely dominating our top sales leaderboards day after day recently. With the Prancing Horse brand clearly in the spotlight, let's dig into the juicy details on which specific models and examples found new homes last month.

But before we dive into the data, we have to spotlight the highest sale of May - a 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona completed in January of that year as a Berlinetta coupe. Considering real ones are routinely cracking the $3 million mark at auction, the $441,000 hammer price achieved could almost be considered a bit of a bargain for the new owner. For context, RM Sotheby's sold a similar Daytona for $3.7 million just weeks prior.

May’s Numbers

The total online sales for May reached $13.4 million, marking an increase of $800,000 compared to last month. The average sale price was $163,528, up by $7,500 from the previous month.

Below are the top 10 online sales in May:

Before we delve deep into the data. Lets analyze some more general stats for May. The general trend indicates a varied range of prices, with some peaks and troughs. This insight reveals that while there were some high-value sales, the market also saw more moderately priced transactions.

Top Selling Platforms

Ferraris are a significant revenue stream for Collecting Cars, with sales spanning the globe. However, Bring a Trailer leads the pack due to its dominance in the online space. Below are the top 5 selling online platforms for May.

Year vs Price

1997 was the most popular year of Ferrari’s sold. Specifically the 550 Maranello which is pure driving bliss. I absolutely love how this grand tourer handles—it's like it was made for the open road. With its powerful V12 engine and timeless design, the 550 Maranello is just fun!

You can see below that generally, newer models tend to have higher average prices, but certain classic models from earlier years also command significant value, reflecting their collectible status and historical importance.

Top 5 Models By Price & Sales

The F430 was the top seller in sales volume and dollar amount. The F430 is an icon thanks to that rev-hungry 4.3L V8 that screams like a fully provoked rottweiler. Plus, its muscular, yet elegant lines exude an aesthetic aggressiveness - it's a proper Ferrari head-turner.

Top Selling Models Analyzed

Let's take a closer look at some of the Ferrari models changing hands to see who's selling them and for what price.

550

Collecting Cars were king of the 550 sales in May, with sales taking place in Dubai and London. The highest sale belong to BaT at $210k for this 19k-Mile 1999 Ferrari 550 Maranello.

F430

Bring a Trailer topped the F430 sales. Highest sale for them was this 16M which to me is such a sleeper. This 3,200-Mile 2009 Ferrari 430 Scuderia Spider 16M (above) sold for $441,000.

328

The highest sale of the month was $160,444 from BaT. and I can only see values on these going one way - straight up like a heat-seeking missile.

That distinctive 80s wedge shape just oozes big-bore V8 testosterone and style for days.

The 328 is a bona fide collectible icon in the making. Boxy charm and raucous performance in one unapologetically 80s package.
