Just click on the image, and boom, you're right at the listing.

1992 Porsche 911 Carrera RS Clubsport $280,000

2022 FERRARI 296 GTB $279,000

2019 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet Exclusive Series $255,000

1989 PORSCHE 911 (930) TURBO LE $226,200

2018 PORSCHE 991.2 GT3 6-SPEED $189,250

Buy Of The Day

So, this 2003 Volvo S40 that went for $8,300 on Bring a Trailer is what you call a deal and a half. Imagine this: a sleek, single-owner Volvo from Florida, barely touched with just 41k miles. For a car with a rep for being practically indestructible, that's nothing.

The buzz about the price makes sense. Volvo is known for reliability, safety, and throwing in a bunch of features that make driving not just comfortable, but a pleasure. This S40 isn't just any car; it's black with taupe leather interior, heated seats, and a sunroof, all thanks to those Climate and Premium packages it's rocking.

Landing a car this solid, with such low mileage and in great shape, from a seller on the level, at this price point? It's like finding a four-leaf clover in your backyard.

The buyer nailed it with this purchase. It's rare to see a deal this good, especially on a car that's got a lot of road left to travel and comes fully loaded. It's the sort of buy that feels both smart and a tad lucky.

In essence, kudos to the new owner! They've got themselves a top-notch Volvo that's ready to rack up miles without breaking a sweat or the bank. It's exactly the kind of score you want to brag about, saying, "Check out what I just landed."

Reasonably Priced Sale?

When I find myself in conversations with fellow car enthusiasts, the topic often gravitates towards the current state of the car market. Are we seeing a normalization of prices post-COVID? My response remains consistent: While we're not witnessing the extreme spikes in prices for most models that were prevalent during the pandemic, the market isn't exactly softening across the board. Yes, I can instantly think of three examples where prices have dipped compared to last year, but I can also provide five instances where they've surged. Given my background in data analysis & love for it, I'm closely monitoring these fluctuations. There's a certain yin and yang to the market dynamics lately. A prime example of this balance is the recent sale of a 1991 Honda CRX Si on Cars & Bids for $18,600.

This particular 1991 Honda CRX Si showcases why it's such an interesting time for car enthusiasts and collectors. It sold for $18,600, marking it as the third highest-selling CRX on the platform. What we have here is a pristine example of a vehicle that's becoming increasingly hard to find in such unmodified condition. It's equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission, air conditioning, and comes in an eye-catching Frost White. Notably, aside from an upgraded sound system, the car has remained mostly true to its original form.

The sale price might raise eyebrows, especially given the CRX's odometer reading of 165,800 miles. However, this car embodies more than just a set of numbers. The CRX Si is celebrated for its agile handling, rev-happy engine, and light curb weight—qualities that made it a hit upon its debut and continue to endear it to enthusiasts today. This model, with its additional factory features and minimal modifications, presents an enticing blend of performance and preservation.

Despite its mileage, the car has been meticulously maintained, as evidenced by recent service records. From a comprehensive air conditioning system overhaul to the replacement of critical components such as the distributor and timing belt, this CRX has been cared for in a manner that suggests it's ready for many more miles of driving pleasure.

In summary, while general trends in the car market might show signs of stabilization, exceptional examples (and there are many exceptional examples every day on these auction platofrms) like this 1991 Honda CRX Si prove that there's still plenty of excitement and opportunity. For both the buyer and the seller, the transaction represents a convergence of value and passion—a testament to the enduring appeal of well-preserved, enthusiast-driven vehicles. In the ever-evolving narrative of car sales and collector interest, it's vehicles like this CRX that highlight the nuanced but vibrant state of the market.

Daily Auction Spotlight

Here are my musings on some captivating cars currently up for auction. To see the full listing, just click on the image.

Perfectly timed for the week of the Superbowl... Relive all of your OJ fantasies in this beauty.

Sticking with a vintage 4x4 theme, how many of these do you see around these days? How many did you even see new? These were big SUVs made when most Americans were still buying minivans. Too early for its time, this seems like a great and unique fit for the modern world.

If you are going to kick it old school, and you hope to upstage everyone else at your local cars and coffee, even in New Canaan, Palm Beach, Newport or Pebble Beach, you have a day left to bid on this automotive jewel.

In my book, this is near perfection. If anyone was wondering what Sam might like for his belated Valentine's gift, this would be it...  A 1989 Turbo with the factory 5 speed. Cabriolet is my personal preference (I am well aware that others disagree) but experiencing the smells, sounds and rush of fresh air is part of the aircooled nirvana that I crave. The color combination is unique, subtle and striking all at once and the RUF Speedlines, boxed rockers and brake vents are the chefs kiss. I just wish someone had the foresight to send this to RUF for the full BTR3 package that would have brought this to 6 speeds and seemingly endless horsepower. I am canceling my plans for Saturday afternoon to watch this auction close. (weekend auctions are where it’s at!)

This AWD is ideal for those of us who miss Oldsmobile, maroon on maroon color schemes and love to worry about ever finding replacement parts. Someone will find this very clean California car special enough to bring home at No Reserve. Here in the Northeast, I don't remember these looking this clean when they were brand new. I don't think I have seen one in these parts in at least a decade without rusted through panels.

Where does Doug find all of these manual Cayennes? I have always wanted to drive one of these and I am still thinking about the Cayenne Turbo that sold last week for $7K in New Canaan, CT. This one is in nearby Greenwich, CT and could be the one to bring home. These listings are supposed to pop up outside of the Northeast where I can blame the high cost and complexity of transport and logistics. Mrs. Gold has always wanted a Cayenne, but I have a feeling that a manual version is not what she had in mind for NYC traffic...

Last weekend, at Hayfield's, I got to drive a Gulf Livery 911r tribute that was built from a 1983 911SC. It was raw and visceral, and it was everything that I hoped it would be as a former race car. It got me thinking about what it would be like to own a similar build. This would be such a similar build, and it seems to have long-term ownership and a good race pedigree. I do love orange...
