πŸ”₯ Porsche & Rolls-Royce Serve Up a Storm!!

BONUS: Every 🏎 Ferrari Up For Auction Shown Right Here πŸ˜€

The Daily Vroom

Happy Tuesday Vroomers,

Before we get into yesterday’s auctions. I can tell you that the car world in real life is on fire πŸ”₯. I was at the Father’s Day Parade here in Los Angeles and there were thousands and thousands of people salivating over some of the most jaw dropping cars one could ever see. For me, as much as I enjoyed seeing some gorgeous Porsche’s and sexy Ferrari’s, this one car stood out for me.

The 1971 Datsun 240Z - for me it's the epitome of exhilaration, nostalgia, and elegance! Its legendary 2.4L inline-6 engine serves up a punchy performance, making every drive a thrilling ride. The sleek design, with its signature long hood and short rear deck, is a perfect embodiment of vintage charm and sports car appeal. It's not just a car, it's a piece of automotive history that made waves in the industry by putting Japanese sports cars on the global map.

Anyways, back to the auctions and some analysis πŸ˜€

MARKET ANALYSIS

In last Tuesday's newsletter, you might recall the mention of a substantial dip in online auction sales on the Monday prior. Fortunately, this downturn had a strong bounce-back as the week progressed.

The performance of the three major players in the market over the last three Mondays is showcased above. They've all shown progress in every measure since last Monday.

The striking stat here for me is that despite selling 60 fewer cars than BaT, Collecting Cars' total sales numbers came in just shy of a third of BaT's. Could it be possible that if Collecting Cars were to, let's say, sell 40 cars, they might match BaT in total sales? And, how might this higher sales volume affect their sell-through rate? I believe their first hurdle would be crossing the 20-cars-per-day mark, which they haven't yet achieved. The same holds true for Cars & Bids who need to breach the 30-cars-per-day threshold.

*for those that ask, I have analysed the sales number for all other sites, but they consistently don’t sell anywhere near the numbers that the above three do.

Would you like me to venture into the revenue of all the auction websites?

NEARLY SALE OF THE DAY

πŸ”₯Nearly Sale of the Day: 2017 Cadillac CTS-V Hennessey HPE1000 πŸ”₯

✨ Highlights βœ¨ Presenting the almost deal of the day - the magnificent 2017 Cadillac CTS-V Hennessey HPE1000 πŸš—. This power-packed ride, donned in Phantom Gray Metallic paint with black leather upholstery, was bid to an exciting $86,500 yesterday. Flaunting a supercharged 6.2-Liter V8 with the HPE1000 package, it showcases exceptional performance prowess.

πŸ› οΈ Specs and Features πŸ› οΈ Sporting a modified 8-Speed automatic transmission, electronic limited-slip differential, and 20" Forgiato wheels, this American beast was ready to rule the roads. Its heated & ventilated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and custom stereo system provide luxury to match its performance. Covered for 38k miles, the car remains in excellent shape, as evidenced by its clean Carfax report πŸ‘Œ.

🏁 Why it didn't sell πŸ

Determining the exact reasons for the car not selling can be tricky, but several factors could have contributed.

Firstly, the physical condition of the car might have been an area of concern. Despite the seller's reassurances, the misaligned wheel and skewed badge could have left some bidders uneasy. In the world of luxury cars, even the smallest imperfections can lead to questions.

Secondly, the issue of the vehicle's modifications and the associated receipts ($56,331) may have raised eyebrows. While these alterations arguably increase the car's value, they also hint at a hefty asking price from the seller. This could have created a gap between the seller's price expectations and the bidders' willingness to meet it, possibly discouraging higher bids.

Thirdly, the heavily modified nature of the vehicle might not have appealed to all. While some appreciate the enhancements, purists might favor the charm of an untouched Venom GT, possibly leading to a smaller pool of potential bidders.

My best guess is that the seller was looking for a price north of $100,000!

SALES OF THE DAY

Today, I'm putting the spotlight on two diverse cars that managed to strike a fair deal, pleasing both the seller and the buyer. Do you think both parties got a good bang for their buck? I'd love to know! Make sure to cast your vote in the poll at the end of this section
