Welcome to the Thursday edition of The Daily Vroom.

\I was just driving down the 405 in LA when i saw two Rivian’s next to each other. It seems to me like I’m seeing more of them. Rivian have said in the past that they plan to produce 50,000 cars this year.

The stock price collapsed at the beginning of the year from $32 to what it is now which is just $13.50. That being said it’s been quite steady the last month. I don’t know what’s gonna happen in the EV market, but to me it’s really interesting seeing new companies come onto the market that are looking to compete with the likes of Tesla.

If you’ve followed my writing over the last 2 months, you’ll have read all about Cars & Bids amongst the many auction sites I’ve written about. I’m not going to rehash my thoughts now 😀- but the gist of what I’m saying about them and others is what can they do to bridge the gap (if they want to on BaT). Yesterday I ran a poll on the likeliest competitor and I’ll bring you the results tomorrow. One glorious reader decided that they were gonna give Cars & Bids a go after reading about them here in The Daily Vroom. Here’s hoping they have a positive experience!!

I have been reading your daily article for a little over a month now and I am enjoying it. I have sold 25 cars over the last 3 years for friends, family etc... most of them on Bring a Trailer or Hemming's auctions. I have just listed my personal 1991 Mustang Notchback, completely unmodified on Cars & Bids, so I am trying out that platform for the first time, and I learned about that platform by reading your article.

In the first half of May we’ve had some big sales. That being said we’ve also had some big non-sales with cars not reaching their reserve.

Comparing sales to May 2022, in general the average selling price is down. The COVID and post COVID bump is over (in general). Even most cars on BaT are down on average 10% from 2 years ago.
