Same Cars, Different Sites: Who's Really Getting Top Dollar - BaT or C&B?
The Daily Vroom
Hey Everyone!
Something spicy just dropped - a podcast that's stirring up some drama in the online auction world. I'll let you dive in and make up your own minds, but this one's got people talking...
Back with more on Monday,

MARKET LEADERBOARD
💰 The figures shared below don’t count any other sales such as car seats, memorabilia etc… All online auction sites are analyzed to put this leaderboard together.
I only include websites that have sold 5+ vehicles in the chart below.
Total sales crept up to $7.1m yesterday, with BaT and C&B putting up identical total number of vehicle numbers to Wednesday. Consistency is one thing, but I'd love to see someone shake things up a bit...
YESTERDAY’S TOP 5 SALES
Sale of the day has to go to this 1968 DeTomaso Mangusta, which just pulled in $301,000, and it’s no surprise it’s headed to the same buyer who recently scooped up the Special-Roadster-Style 1934 Mercedes-Benz 500k for over $2 million. Clearly, they’re building a serious collection, and if their BaT purchases are anything to go by, it’s likely just the tip of the iceberg.

Cars & Bids vs Bring a Trailer
Yesterday on the Cars & Bids podcast, Doug was practically gleeful as he spilled some serious tea. Here’s the scoop: they moved a Ferrari 812 GTS for $522k, outdoing a prior listing two months back on BaT, where it sat at $514k without a sale. Doug didn’t stop there—he shared that their data for Q3 shows cars that were initially listed on BaT and then relisted on Cars & Bids pulled in 1.3% more cash and saw a massive 70% bump in views and bids.
Naturally, this got me thinking: if they’re laying down stats, what does it look like the other way around? How do Cars & Bids listings fare when they head over to BaT?
Looking at it from another angle, Doug may have inadvertently insinuated that BaT is where the bargains are hiding, as they supposedly have cheaper prices…
Naturally, a few other factors are in play. Cars & Bids keeps it lean with about 30 listings a day, whereas BaT’s 150 listings mean attention per car might be a bit spread. And Cars & Bids does bring a sleeker UX to the table, which BaT might not want to change, especially when they’re pulling in thousands of comments on certain auctions.
This info just dropped, so I haven’t done a full breakdown yet. If you’d like me to dig into these numbers, just drop me a line.
You can take a watch and listen for yourself. Let me know what you think…

Porsche 935 Returns: Can It Top Last Year's $1.6M Sale?
This 2019 Porsche 935 is back on the market, and here’s the million-dollar question: will it reach or even beat last year’s $1.6 million sale? It’s no coincidence this listing wraps up on the weekend. If you’ve been following The Daily Vroom for a while, you know weekends are when we see some of the biggest sales roll in—timing matters, and this one’s primed for a headline-worthy result.
What makes this Porsche 935 special? It’s more than just a track car—it’s Porsche’s tribute to their racing legacy, a 700-horsepower beast cloaked in the legendary Interscope Racing livery. The feature image of it alone, posed in an empty Times Square, feels like a scene out of a blockbuster. The comments were buzzing with everyone’s appreciation for details like the 908-inspired cookie-cutter exhaust and the nod to the 917 with that wood shift knob. This isn’t just a car; it’s a piece of racing history you can actually drive—if you’ve got access to a track.
Porsche’s decision to make this track-only and without road legality only adds to the appeal, driving up its exclusivity. And while $1.6 million set the bar high last time, this one feels like it’s got the momentum to hit, or maybe even top, that figure. For the right collector, it’s not just a showpiece; it’s a rare chance to own a piece of Porsche’s racing soul.
