MARKET ANALYSIS

Yesterday’s Sell-Through Rate

Alright, let's take a peek at yesterday's sell-through rates for some of the top auction websites.

Bring A Trailer and Cars & Bids both rocked the highest rate of 74%. But here's the twist - BaT sold a whopping 72 cars, while C&B only got 22 cars off the lot.

Check out the diagram, and you'll see Catawiki trailing behind. Maybe you've never heard of it - it's a European site that sells loads of stuff, including a bunch of cars. But their sell-through rate? Just 16%. A bit of a bummer, right?

A ‘little’ mishap 😱 occurred when a mechanic accidentally stepped on the gas instead of hitting reverse in a Porsche 911 GT3 RS!

SALE OF THE DAY

🏁Sold! A Speedster in Magma Orange: The 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series🏁

Unleashing an astonishing 720bhp from its twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8, the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series delivers lightning speed, capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h in a mind-boggling 3.2 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 325km/h.🚀

This specific beauty, dressed in head-turning Magma Orange, has just raced into a new owner's hands for a whopping $335,000 on Collecting Cars today.🍊💰

Outfitted with AMG coilover suspension, adaptive adjustable damping, a performance exhaust system, larger radiator air inlet, adjustable carbon-fibre spoiler blades, and several lightweight, aerodynamic carbon-fibre components, this car's a beast both on the road and on the track.🏎️🔥

Black leather and Dinamica adorn the cabin, punctuated by orange stitching and seat inserts, carbon-fibre inlays, and a silver half roll-cage. Modern technology isn't forgotten with dual-zone climate control, a Burmester sound system, and a COMAND infotainment system.🎵🛰️

This example rolls on black 19-inch front and 20-inch rear forged alloy wheels, paired with carbon-ceramic brake discs and Pirelli P Zero tyres. A front and rear camera help you park this beast safely.📸🚗

Included in the sale are the owner’s book pack, battery charger, and suspension camber adjustment tools - everything you need for the full AMG experience.📚🔧

The car was serviced last in 2022 by Mercedes-Benz and comes with a PPF (paint protection film) applied across its bodywork. The seller has confirmed no known mechanical or electrical faults.👌🔍

Inspired by the GT4 race car, the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series boasts a spectacular Nürburgring lap time of 6:43.616, defeating the formidable Lamborghini Aventador SVJ by more than a second. 🏆🕒 This is not just a car - it's a tribute to speed, engineering, and dramatic styling.

This exciting sale exemplifies the growing market demand for high-performance, contemporary supercars. As a remarkable performance hero, the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series continues to impress, leaving adrenaline in its wake.💥🔝

NEARLY SALE OF THE DAY

6K-Mile 2008 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione Auction Result

🔍 Overview

An immaculate 2008 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, nestled within AutoSourceGroup's collection, was bid to $285,000 but failed to meet its reserve price. One of just 90 brought to the US, this vehicle is a manifestation of Italian grandeur with a 4.7-liter V8 heart, and less than 6k miles on the clock. Painted in the timeless Nero color, this sports coupe is a harmonious blend of elegance, luxury, and high-performance.

💫 Key Features

  • Black leather upholstery complemented by red stitching

  • Carbon-fiber sport seats delivering a blend of comfort and support

  • 4.7-liter V8 F136 YC engine which cranks out a robust 444 horsepower

📉 Market Analysis

The market for high-end, low-mileage classic cars appears to be witnessing a downward trend. Comparatively, a similar 16,000-mile Alfa Romeo was auctioned for $315,000 in January, followed by a 1,400-mile one which fetched an impressive $375,000 in March.

The relatively lower bid of $285,000 for this iconic Italian coupe suggests a cooling off in demand or a more cautious approach from collectors. Only time will tell if this is a temporary adjustment or the beginning of a long-term trend.

Despite the unmet reserve, the 8C Competizione stands as a testament to Alfa Romeo's commitment to performance, luxury, and timeless design. A clear favorite among car enthusiasts, this vehicle's market value is certainly something to keep an eye 👀 on.
