Thursday was on the quieter side, pulling in sales of just $5.5 million. Glancing at the chart, the somewhat lower reserve sell-through rates for the top auctions catch your eye as one of the culprits. As the folks behind the platforms would say, some days are just naturally better than others. It's not something to dwell on too much; you shake it off and look forward to the next day, ready for a fresh batch of auctions.

Speaking of looking forward, today is the day for the Cybertruck auction, and wow, what a wild ride the comments section has been. You've gotta have a thick skin as the seller here and to a certain degree some of those commenters!

Cars & Bids have done their job fantastically well with over 350 comments and 100k+ views.

Now it's up to the market to determine whether the Cybertruck will sell and for how much. That is, of course, provided the seller hasn't set an unrealistic reserve.

I always appreciate seeing a diverse lineup in the top 5, featuring a variety of cars and platforms. While yesterday's selection didn't offer the range of vehicles I hoped for, it did showcase diversity in terms of platforms, including Sotheby's Motorsport, Bring a Trailer, and Collecting Cars.

Bidding and comments on this listing seem to have stalled the other day. I can't understand why. I believe this is the same E55 wagon that I used to see regularly parked around the corner from my place. It was driven regularly by a driver and the family would take it to the Hamptons on weekends. It was always well maintained and the Carfax records show the service history. It was up on Cape Cod after that and had a well documented and properly repaired rust spot in a common area for W211s. This car is a rare beast that will be sold tomorrow at no reserve to the high bidder. Personally, I would love to upgrade my E500 wagon with this.

An original owner 1987 930 with low miles and long-term western and southern ownership. I always love 930s, but to see one unmolested, but driven and maintained by a single owner, is really special. This ticks a lot of boxes and I can't find much to nitpick. I even like the color combination and the comfort seats. Hats off to the seller, as this is selling on the weekend where we’ve seen some excellent results.

Catching sight of the 2022 McLaren 765LT Spider in Bespoke Pure Black with Carmine Red stitching is a reminder of what makes a supercar truly special. With only 441 miles to its name, this masterpiece stands as a testament to McLaren's engineering prowess, combining breathtaking performance with bespoke elegance. The allure of this car isn't just in its stats—a sub-3-second dash to 60 mph or the 755 horsepower twin-turbo V8—but in the painstaking attention to detail and the $92k in bespoke options that set it apart. It's not every day you see a car that so beautifully merges art with adrenaline, especially one that's part of a limited run of just 765 units.

What is there to not like about an original and documented Speedster in Fjord Green? 

I remember when this truck was being built at ICON. Jonathan was in love with these builds, and it really showed. My friend worked at ICON at the time and used to share updates on the progress. All ICONs are special, but these early TR series trucks were just amazing. Another great weekend listing to keep your eye on.

Last but no least, closing this weekend, a tastefully modified 993 C4 manual.

Below are the top 5 Alumni auctions sold yesterday. The arrows in the diagram below show whether the car’s sale price was higher or lower than the previous sale.

In our latest update from the Alumni auctions, we can report that 7 of the 9 vehicles listed just yesterday have already found their new homes. Three of these sales were on a No Reserve basis.

Up first is the 1998 Porsche 911 Carrera S Coupe 6-Speed: Yesterday's sale is a testament to the enduring appeal and value of classic Porsches. Selling for $152,000, a notable $6,000 increase from its 2021 price, with only an additional 2,000 miles on the odometer, speaks volumes. Personally, I'd have clocked way more miles, embracing every opportunity to experience its drive. The car's appreciation in value, under the care of its new owner, is poised to continue, especially if maintained with the same diligence as its previous custodians. The seller, SandboxMotors, did an exceptional job presenting this vehicle, highlighting its status as the pinnacle of the air-cooled Porsche 911 lineage. With features like Arctic Silver Metallic paint, a 3.6-Liter Flat-Six, and the sought-after Motor Sound Package, this 993 represents a remarkable blend of performance and heritage. Here's to hoping it continues to captivate and increase in value, a true classic in every sense.

As a follow up to yesterday’s article about Alumni listings getting less views. This one had 17k views, whilst the original had 32k views. Less views but it still sold for more!

Those that know me will attest to my attention to detail, so you’ll know that I also checked all the other alumni listings and in total 7 out of the 9 had significant less views than the original listings. The two that that had more views, (not that much more) were the Modified 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible & the 1964 Lotus Elan S1.

In yesterdays poll asking sellers if they’ve seen less views on their listings, it was pretty evenly split between, yes, no and I don’t know! So for now I’ll keep reporting back what I see.
