The One Thing Hagerty Does Better Than Anyone
PLUS: The most sorted E28 we’ve seen and a Carrera GT with pedigree...
The Daily Vroom
Good morning Vroomers,
We didn’t get a wave of six-figure sales yesterday, but volume made up for it. Over $7.1 million in total sales, solid for a Monday, with the $20K–$40K range seeing the most action. The average across all platforms came in at $41,000.
In today’s edition:
A no-reserve E28 M5 with all the right upgrades
Hagerty’s latest move with the Burnyzz Collection
A clean Chevy R10 that proves squarebodies still have it
And one of the rarest homologation Porsches ever built — a 924 Carrera GT restored by Tuthill
Plus, we just launched our Instagram. Reels, under-the-radar picks, quick takes, it’s all coming. First one’s below.
Let’s get into it.

YESTERDAY’S TOP 5 SALES
I always like when the top 5 isn’t dominated by just one platform. Yesterday’s list had four different platforms in the top five.

Hagerty’s Sweet Spot: The Burnyzz Collection
Hagerty is far from the perfect online auction platform. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again their tech, their bidding UX, their singular focus, it still feels a few steps behind. But when it comes to collections, no one is playing the game quite like they are.
This week it’s The Burnyzz Collection, straight out of Ocala, Florida — and once again, every single car is selling No Reserve. That’s 25 vehicles across the full spectrum: street rods, resto-mods, muscle, Vettes, trucks, oddballs, even a toy car. And that’s where Hagerty shines. However they’re doing it be it legacy relationships, good old-fashioned phone calls, dealer outreach, they keep landing these batches. And they’ve made it clear: this is something they know how to execute.
Bring a Trailer gets collections too, sure. A few a year. There’s even a big one coming in August I’m looking forward to. But it’s not their core. Hagerty seems to have made collections part of the plan and it’s working.
Other platforms? They could & SHOULD be doing this. It’s not hard to imagine C&B or PCar rounding up five to ten strong sellers from one source a few times a year. But that takes boots on the ground. Real conversations. Relationships. And most platforms still act like they're waiting for the magic to come to them.
Some Burnyzz Highlights:

1980’s Auctions To Keep An Eye On
E28 M5s don’t show up often. Not like this.
One year only. One spec. And this one’s wearing Euro bumpers, BBS wheels, and the kind of obsessive maintenance record you almost never see. The seller’s looked after it meticulously, we’re talking timing components, brakes, fuel system, HVAC, clutch, suspension, even the fuse panel.
It still runs the original S38 inline-six, and it’s the kind of engine that’ll happily do another 150k when cared for like this. Every update was done with purpose. No shortcuts. No excuses.
If you’ve been waiting for a proper E28 M5, the kind you don’t have to apologize for, this is it.

👇 M5 Reel’s below. Plenty more coming.
These trucks used to be everywhere. Now a clean, honest R10 like this with a long bed, V8, and no reserve is worth slowing down for.
Originally a municipal work truck in Oregon, this 1987 Chevy R10 was clearly cared for. The seller's gone deep on maintenance including the fuel system, suspension, gauges, lighting, and even the little stuff like window seals and dash trim. It’s running a 5.0L V8 with dual exhaust, Bilsteins, Cherry Bombs, and a set of US Mags that fit the look perfectly.
It’s still simple inside with a bench seat, rubber floor, and RetroSound radio, but it drives straight, doesn’t rattle, and somehow returns 20 mpg on the highway.
And the color speaks for itself. High-impact yellow with just the right amount of wear. If you’re looking for character, usability, and charm in one package, this one’s hard to beat.
No reserve. No nonsense. Just pure 1980s utility.
This isn’t just another old Porsche. It’s a proper homologation special, built so Stuttgart could go racing. Only 400 Carrera GTs were made worldwide. Just 75 were right-hand-drive for the UK. And this one was restored by Tuthill Porsche with over £50,000 in work. That’s the same crew trusted by rally legends and collectors who don’t cut corners.
You get a 2.0-liter turbo four making 210 horsepower, flared arches, top-mount intercooler, and the signature scoop on the hood. It still wears its Fuchs wheels, factory color, and has full history back to 1981. No excuses. Nothing left to sort.
It’s rare, it’s real, and it’s been properly brought back to life. The kind of Porsche that usually goes into a collection and doesn’t come back out.
