Three Unique Porsche Auctions

The RS America is one of those rare Porsche models where less really is more. Porsche stripped away the luxuries to focus on what matters most—performance. This car is a raw, unfiltered version of the 964 Carrera 2, built for people who care more about the connection between the driver and the road than having a plush interior or flashy gadgets.

Why is it special? First off, it’s lightweight, coming in at nearly 80 pounds less than a standard Carrera 2. That doesn’t sound like much, but when you're carving up a canyon road or pushing it on the track, that weight savings means sharper handling and a more direct driving experience. The RS America was also fitted with a stiffer suspension and bigger anti-roll bars, making it a razor-sharp tool for corners.

But it’s not just about shedding weight. The RS America comes with a limited-slip differential—a big deal for putting down power and keeping things composed in the twisties. And that fixed rear wing? It’s not just for looks. It gives the car extra downforce, making sure those 247 horses from the 3.6-liter flat-six stick to the pavement when you’re really pushing it.

With only 701 made, and fewer in this condition, the RS America is a unicorn in the Porsche world. It’s the kind of car that enthusiasts dream about because it’s rare, focused, and most importantly—it’s built for driving. Porsche didn't try to make this car appeal to everyone, and that’s what makes it so damn cool. It’s for people who get it.

Alright, here’s my straight-up take on this 2001 Porsche 911 Turbo: I’m not entirely convinced. Sure, it’s a twin-turbo 996 with AWD and 415 horsepower, but let’s be real—if it wasn’t owned by Hoovie, (YouTuber) would it be getting the same attention? Probably not.

The off-road, safari-style mods—lift kit, beefy tires, rock rails—are definitely unique, but is that really what you want from a 911 Turbo? This model was built for speed, precision, and that unmistakable Porsche road feel. Turning it into an off-road machine feels like it’s trying to be something it’s not. It’s cool in a rugged, unconventional way, but it takes a specific kind of buyer to really appreciate it.

Then there’s the mileage—146k—and a laundry list of little issues: cracked windshield, yellowing headlights, loose door mirror, oil leak, and a spoiler that doesn’t even work. Not to mention, this thing’s been repainted, and the interior has its fair share of wear. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it definitely makes you pause. Without Hoovie’s name attached, it might just be seen as a rough-around-the-edges 996 with an identity crisis.

Bottom line- If you're a hardcore Hoovie fan or love the idea of taking a 911 Turbo off the beaten path, go for it. But for most, this feels like a niche build that’s a bit too far removed from the classic Porsche experience. This one is not for me, but it might be for you…

I always need to end on a high and this Porsche brings all the heat to this auction.

This 11k-mile 1997 Porsche 911 Turbo is simply a stunner—Arctic Silver over Boxster Red leather with the Carbon Fiber Package, it’s the perfect blend of rarity and performance. With its twin-turbo 3.6L flat-six, 400 horsepower, and all-wheel drive, it’s a proper beast, but the real appeal is how untouched and original this car is.

The sport seats, Turbo Twist wheels, and the 993 Turbo's signature wide-body design make this one of the best examples you’ll see. The way these 993 Turbos are appreciating, the real question is how high this one will go.
