Sale of the Day

Forget the six-figure sales, this 2009 BMW 650i Coupe sold yesterday for $8,500, and for what it offers that price is hard to believe.

Here you have a California owned, clean title grand tourer with just 71k miles, finished in Black Sapphire over black leather, and optioned with the Sport Package and Premium Sound. Power comes from BMW’s naturally aspirated 4.8L V8 with 360 horsepower, paired to a six speed automatic. When new this was an $80k coupe. Today it went for less than the cost of a lightly used Corolla.

Yes, it had a rear end accident in 2010, and yes, there’s some cosmetic wear on the wheels and seats. But the big boxes are checked: low mileage, recent servicing, no modifications, and a desirable spec. For $8,500, that is serious value.

The E63 6 Series has long lived in the shadow of M cars, dismissed for its Chris Bangle styling. But time has been kind to the design. In 2025 it looks distinct rather than awkward. Combine that with the last era of naturally aspirated BMW V8 power and this is a recipe for future appreciation.

Bottom line, this is a lot of car for the money. Grand touring comfort, V8 performance, California history, and mileage that leaves plenty of life ahead. Not sure you get a better deal anywhere for this much car at this price.

DriverSource Legends Collection Vol. 3: Proven Seller, Proven Cars

You all know by now how much I love collections on the platforms, and here’s one that always delivers. The DriverSource Legends Collection is back for Volume 3. Over the past nine months they’ve rolled out Volume 1 and Volume 2 like clockwork, each packed with the kind of low-mile, high-spec machinery that stops you mid-scroll. Now Volume 3 arrives with another six cars spanning the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, and it’s one of the strongest lineups yet.

And this isn’t just another dealer doing a dump of stock. DriverSource has been selling on BaT since 2016, with over 400 listings and an 85 percent sell-through rate. That’s well above average and puts them among the most successful sellers ever on the site. Not just in raw numbers, but in terms of consistency. When they list something, the market pays attention.

Which is why the 7k-mile 1987 Porsche 911 Turbo in this collection doesn’t raise eyebrows the way it would from almost anyone else. Multiple owners but only 7k miles? Normally I’d be suspicious. With DriverSource, you accept it’s the real deal.

The 1993 Jaguar XJ220 might be the star of the show, at already $300k with over a week to go! This one spent 12 years perched on the 37th floor of a Tokyo office tower before being imported to the U.S. It’s been featured on Jay Leno’s Garage, run the goldRush Rally, and turned heads at the Boca Raton Concours. Finished in Le Mans Blue over Smoke Grey leather, it looks like a spaceship with a license plate.

The rest of the mix shows the range of their sourcing:

  • A black-on-black 1992 Lamborghini Diablo with a gated five-speed.

  • A white-on-white 2009 Gallardo LP560-4.

  • An 11k-mile Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG finished in silver over red.

  • A 15k-mile BMW Z8, still Henrik Fisker’s masterpiece.

DriverSource knows how to strike a balance between icons, provenance, and mileage, and they back it up with results. Volume 3 is proof again that they don’t just sell cars, they sell confidence.
