Follow Up To Second Listings
Earlier this week we featured two relists, cars we’ve already covered in The Daily Vroom making another appearance on a new platform. Now the results are in. But the numbers only tell part of the story.
First, the 2000 Ferrari 360 Modena. Rosso Corsa, gated six-speed, mild mods, recent service. The kind of usable Ferrari that should appeal to the right buyer. Last month it ran on BaT and topped out at $97,000. This week, it crossed the block on Cars & Bids. Final bid: $91,000. Still RNM.
Was this a calculated move? A gamble? Hard to say. Maybe the seller believed it was a six-figure car and hoped a new audience would get it there. Or maybe they were never in a rush. Just testing the waters, open to selling only if it hit their number. We don’t know. And that’s the point. Not all sellers are motivated. Context is everything.
Then there's the George Foreman Z8. This one did sell last year for $235,000 on Hagerty Marketplace. Now it’s back on Bring a Trailer with $30,000 in fresh service, clearer presentation, and one major new detail. George Foreman has passed away.
Maybe the seller expected that provenance, combined with the recent work, to nudge the value upward. But it didn’t. Final bid: $225,000. RNM again.
Yes, some will say the market is down. But I’ll say what I always say. These are just two cars. I could point to others this week that beat prior results. Nothing here is black and white.
Same goes for platforms. People love to say this car does better on BaT or that one belongs on C&B.
And sometimes they’re right, but only in context. What day did it end? What was the write-up like? Who was bidding? What had just sold the day before? Those details matter. And that’s the kind of thing we love to analyze. Broad generalizations make for good comment threads, but they don’t always lead to better results.
Every listing is its own story. That’s why we keep telling them.

Auctions To Keep An Eye On
We talk a lot about how wide the gap has been between 993 coupes and cabs. But that spread isn’t what it used to be. The smart money has already started moving and this is the kind of car they’re chasing.
Ending today on BaT is a 1998 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet with just 29K miles, finished in rare Ocean Blue Metallic over supple Cashmere leather. It's a final-year 993 with the Motor Sound Package, limited-slip differential, and Active Brake Differential, exactly the kind of spec that makes a cab feel like more than just a cruiser.
But what really sets this one apart is the presentation. This isn’t a car that was dragged out of long-term storage and dusted off with a leaf blower. It’s been recommissioned with care. Paint meter readings check out. Interior details like the Light Rootwood trim still look fresh. And the seller @hows one of the best, is someone who knows his way around air-cooled 911s. If you’ve been following BaT for a while, you’ve probably seen his name before.
Cabriolets have long played second fiddle to coupes in the air-cooled world. But when they look like this, drive like this, and carry specs like this one does, that logic starts to fall apart. The top goes down. The value goes up. And for the buyer who’s been waiting for the right open-air 993, this might be the closest thing to a no-excuses example we’ve seen all summer.
It ends today. And it deserves a look.
Since we were just talking about a Z8, it’s only right we mention this one. A new listing just popped up, same color, same model, but a very different car.
This one’s a 2002 in Topaz Blue over Crema with 28,000 miles. It’s running Alpina wheels, has a Supersprint exhaust, and comes with all the original parts. It’s not a tucked-away collector piece. It’s a proper driver. Stylish, sorted, and just the right amount of personality. You don’t see many Z8s like this, and you almost never see them spec’d this well.
And people are taking notice. Bidding hit $160K on day one. The listing has nearly 450 photos, a fresh video review by Kennan Rolsen, and a comment section full of praise. Some folks actually prefer this one over the more famous examples.
Yes, it’s a relist. It ran here before, topped out at $196K, and didn’t sell. But this time, it feels like momentum is building early.
Because this isn’t just another modern classic. It’s one of the few that still feels analog, exciting, and genuinely special. The shape. The engine. The road presence. The Z8 has it all and this one wears it well.
Let’s see how high it climbs.
Back again, same car, same platform, 10 extra miles.
Last time this 2024 Rolls-Royce Ghost sold for $410,000. It’s now back on Sotheby’s Motorsport, with bidding already over $327K and a few days to go. Still under 150 miles, still loaded with bespoke spec, and yes, still signed by Tom Brady with a matching #12 Buccaneers jersey in the trunk.
The Black Diamond over Grace White combo remains sharp. Illuminated treadplates with his signature, immersive rear seating, lambswool mats, picnic tables, that jewel-like dash clock, it’s peak modern luxury dressed up with celebrity provenance.
So what’s changed? Not much. And maybe that’s the point. The seller is either banking on a similar result or betting the Brady tie-in hits harder this time. We'll see.
One thing’s clear: second listings like this test the ceiling. Was $410K the peak or just the first chapter? We'll find out Friday.
