👀 Top 5 Most Viewed Sales On Bring a Trailer

PLUS: Why this Porsche 911 'only' sold for same price after 1000 miles...

The Daily Vroom

Morning Vrommers,

I did it! No medals for me, but I kept it simple today like I promised yesterday.

A market leaderboard, top 5 sales and few more bits and bobs for you to read about and no deep dives. But fear not, the deep dives will be returning very soon including a big one on No Reserve vs Reserve Auctions….

MARKET LEADERBOARD

💰 The figures shared below don’t count any other sales such as car seats, memorabilia etc..

I only include websites that have sold 5+ cars in the chart below. Which means Hemmings and many others did not sell 5 cars yesterday!

The leaderboard's looking kinda empty with just 5 companies on it, but don’t let that fool you. What went down yesterday tells a whole different story. Sales have been on the rise for two days straight, hitting $7.8 million.

My take? It's probably because Thanksgiving's around the corner and a bunch of these auction sites, especially here in the US, aren’t running auctions on Thursday and Friday. So, they're cramming more of their auctions into Monday and Tuesday this week. And guess what? It’s working.

All that talk about interest rates messing with the market? Doesn’t seem to be panning out in the online car scene. Sure, prices for a lot of cars have dropped from the crazy highs we saw 6 or 12 months back, but let me tell you, there’s still a massive demand for all kinds of vehicles out there.

THE TOP 5 MOST VIEWED SALES ON BaT

Gotta say, it always throws me for a loop when I see some rides on BaT racking up a crazy number of comments and views. Ever wonder what makes a listing hit it big? Tough question, right? But hey, I've got the scoop on something just as cool – the top 5 most viewed.

And let me tell you about BaT views – they're the real deal. I know some other sites might, let's say, 'fluff up' their numbers a bit. But BaT do not. So, without further ado, here’s the all-time top 5. Number one is a doozy and not what you expect.

Here's a tip: click on the ones that catch your eye to check out all the photos. I spent a few hours today just getting lost in the amazing details of these beauties!

A NEARLY FLIP

This 2023 Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS 7-Speed just sold for $217,000 (bought for $219k) - not quite a flip, but hey, driving 1000 miles and getting your cash back? Seems fair to me! 🛣️💰 The car's specs are top-notch: Twin-Turbo 3.0L, swanky Carmine Red paint, black & red leather vibes, and those cool 20" & 21" Turbo S Wheels. 🤩🔴

But here's the thing - it's not one of those 'special' Porsches, so the big money flip potential isn't quite there. 🤷‍♂️🚘 Still, for the buyer, it's a slight win in my book. They got an almost new Porsche, packed with features (hello, Heated & Ventilated Adaptive Sport Seats), and didn't lose a dime. The seller? Well, they got to enjoy a sweet ride for a bit without a financial hit. 👍

So, bottom line: It's more of a neat experience than a profitable flip. Sometimes, that's just how the wheel turns! 🔄🏁
