YESTERDAY’S AUCTION RESULTS
Back by popular demand, is the top 10 most expensive cars table!
It’s not a bad day to look at what the top-end of the market is looking like. We’ve been lacking some $1m+ sales this year, so it’s good to see & watch this auction go down for the ‘high mile’ (2900 miles) Ford GT.
What’s crazy is not the price per se, but that the last and winning bid was just $1,000 more than the previous bid. I guess every extra $ counts when you’re spending $1m on a car.

SALES ANALYSED
For those of you that may be wondering why you only see 4 websites, it’s because I’m only sharing data of sites that have sold 10 or more cars. So if you don’t see your favorite website, it’s not because I haven’t analysed the sales, it’s simply that they didn’t sell too much yesterday.
‘Long time’ readers of The Daily Vroom, will recognise the recurring theme shown here in the sales. Collecting Cars once again leading the pack in the average sale price column. It does help that their top 3 most expensive cars were $200K+. The ultimate question in two parts for them is (a) can they increase the number of cars sold and (b) if they can, can they keep the average sale price relatively high.
Bring A Trailer are once again smashing it at the top with 76 vehicles sold. They also sold tires and other memorabilia, so actually had 80 sales yesterday.
What is so incredible with BaT is not only the number of vehicles they are selling, yesterday was actually a below average day for them in terms of numbers. But the fact that with that number of sales they are able to keep such a high average sale price. My prediction is that by the end of the year we’ll be see 100+ cars sold days on a regular occurence.
There’s not much really to say about Cars & Bids that I haven’t said before. They are consistently averaging 20 sales per day, but just can’t break through to push it to 25+. Let’s see how impactful their new inspection service will be once it comes onto the site. On the positive side, their average sale price has increased. Their average sale price over their last 4 auction days is around the $31,000 mark. Let’s see if they can continue to keep raising the bar…
Side note: We ONLY feature vehicles in this newsletter that are sold in online auctions. There are cars that do get sold after the auction has taken place. But it’s not possible to corroborate those sales with 100% accuracy, so I just leave them off.
BARGAIN OF THE DAY
This Single-Family-Owned 1982 Volvo 245 GLT Turbo Wagon 4-Speed sold for just $7,850.
Yes it was high mileage, but the spec is rare and with Volvo you know you’re getting a car that will last and last.
CARS UP FOR AUCTION
Underneath each picture you will see the name of the car. If you click on the name it will take you directly to the auction.
