Will This Defender Prove Doug DeMuro Right?
The Daily Vroom
Morning Vroomers!
It's Monday, which means we're going a bit off-piste and skipping some of our usual features. Today’s twist: there are noticeably fewer no reserve auctions happening across the platforms. It’ll be interesting to watch how that impacts the sales figures.
Catch you tomorrow with all our usual features!

Interviews
It’s fantastic to see new subscribers joining us every day, and I’m so grateful for it.
Since you’re new, you might have missed some of our past content. While we’re working on sprucing up the website, I’ve pulled together all our interviews in one place for you to dive into. We’ve had conversations with the big players from nearly every platform out there—and we’re always looking to chat with more. If you can help us get in touch with any platform leaders not on our list, shoot me an email at [email protected].
Oh, and if you missed the news, last week we dropped our first podcast featuring the legendary 911r, a superstar seller. Plenty more of those are coming your way.
Here’s the interview list—reach out if you have ideas for other great guests you’d love to hear from!
Will This Defender Prove Doug DeMuro Right About Cars & Bids vs. BaT?
A few weeks back, we reported that Doug DeMuro mentioned having the stats to prove cars fetch more money on Cars & Bids after being listed on Bring a Trailer. Well, we’ve got a live one here—a 1994 Land Rover Defender 90 NAS—and let’s see if they can back up their founder’s bold words!
Now, of course, I’m half-joking. One sale doesn't make or break the data, but it’ll be fun to see what happens, especially since the seller claims to have addressed a few lingering issues. And I've got to admit, this is one that I personally like, so I can't wait to see how it does.
This Defender 90 is the real deal: North American Spec, a rugged yet refined 4x4 powered by a 3.9L V8, and loaded with East Coast Defender modifications. It’s finished in Grasmere Green, giving it that classic, heritage-inspired look. The upgrades range from LED lighting to an Alpine touchscreen, not to mention a suspension and braking overhaul. Plus, it’s got side-facing rear jump seats for those who want to ride in style—albeit facing backward.
Here you can see how the previous auction did back in March, and with only 3,000 miles driven since a comprehensive 2017 refurbishment and no rust on the underside, this rig is ready to tackle whatever adventure comes its way. And hey, if it fetches a premium here, we might just have to give Doug and his stats a bit more credit. Either way, it’s going to be a wild ride to watch this auction play out.
Auctions to keep an eye on
Last week, we dove into the world of wagons with some real standouts, and I figured we’d wrap up the wagon chatter (for now) with one last beauty that’s ending today: a 2021 Mercedes-AMG E63 S Wagon 4MATIC. If you’ve ever thought a family hauler couldn’t be blisteringly fast and drop-dead gorgeous at the same time, this AMG proves otherwise.
Let’s talk story. This particular E63 S wasn’t just specced out for anyone; it was originally driven by an MBUSA executive, loaded with nearly every option. Finished in that stunning Designo Brilliant Blue Magno, it’s got ceramic composite brakes, a panoramic glass roof, and an interior that perfectly mixes luxury and performance with gray and black Nappa leather plus carbon-fiber trim. The twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 puts down a monstrous 603 horsepower, making grocery runs feel like a day at the Nürburgring.
If you’re in the market for something that can carve up mountain roads and still carry a weekend’s worth of luggage, this wagon might be your ticket.
Ending soon is this 1994 Toyota Supra Turbo Hardtop 6-Speed, and trust me—this one deserves your full attention.
First off, we’re talking about one of the rarest configurations: a Twin Turbo, 6-speed manual, fixed hardtop. Only 355 of these unicorns were ever produced for the U.S., making this car part of the ultra-exclusive less-than-5% club. It’s completely stock. No wild body kits or questionable mods here, just pure, unadulterated 90s JDM perfection.
Finished in that unforgettable Renaissance Red over Ivory leather, this Supra has just 41k miles, which is practically a time capsule in the world of A80s. It's even been featured in Hagerty magazine, so you know it’s got a story. With a 3.0L 2JZ-GTE under the hood, pushing 320 horsepower, this beauty was built to carve up roads—and turn heads—without breaking a sweat.
In a world where modified Supras are a dime a dozen, finding one this clean and original is like discovering a needle in a haystack. If you’ve ever dreamed of owning a piece of JDM history, this might just be your chance.
