Here's what we've got for you today:
π Round-up of yesterday's sales
π Let's talk Lamborghini's
πMatt Farah's Lucid Air (kind of)
πVroomy old ads
Before we get to the Lamborghini's which I know you all want, I've brought back the fan favorite table of the most expensive cars sold yesterday on auction.
Collecting Cars won the prize of the highest sale, whilst BaT dominated the sales with the sale of four 911's. Everyone wants a Porsche!
Yesterday one of my (many) favorite cars was sold, the 1965 Aston Martin DB5.
It's a dashing cocktail of British elegance, James Bond swagger, and vintage charm, all revved up in a symphony of purring engines and gleaming chrome.
Who wouldn't want that?
LETS TALK LAMBORGHINI'S
In recent years, the market for Lamborghini sales has been primarily dominated by prestigious physical auction houses such as Mecum, showcasing the finest models from the iconic Italian automaker. While online auctions have gained popularity, Lamborghinis still remain relatively scarce on these platforms.
As we examine the sales data from 2023, one might wonder if this trend will continue, or if the digital landscape will gradually take over as the primary channel for trading these luxury supercars. Iβll be keeping a close eye on emerging market trends and buyer preferences to analyse ant potential shifts in the Lamborghini auction space.
Rather than my usual table showcasing the sales, I've experimenting on a different format. Let me know if you like it.
One side note, I didn't count the Lamborghini tractor sales into my analysis. Who knew that 2-3 of them get sold each month, not me π€¨

Yesterday if you read my analysis of the Porsche 911 market, you will have seen that BaT were not (shock, horror!) the leading seller of 911's. Once again today, we can see that Collecting Cars & Cars & Bids are the sites that sell most of the Lamborghini's.
To add a further bit of context. Collecting Cars sold the top 5 most expensive ones with a total volume sales of over $17m, whilst Cars & Bids total π° sales of their 5 cars is just over $6m- so quite a big difference.
UNIQUE & SPECIAL CARS UP FOR AUCTION
Living in Los Angeles, you get to see all weird and whacky things, people and sometimes even cars. I remember about a year back there was a lot of talk on how the Lucid was going to take on the Tesla etc..
But up until that point I had never seen one in the wild. Fast forward to today, and I see one on the road nearly every single day. I've yet to drive in one, but I'm told they are a LOT of fun to drive and a LOT more luxurious than a Tesla. I'll let you know my views once I get in one!
Anyways, back to today. Matt Farah, the charismatic host of The Smoking Tire podcast, has carved a niche for himself in the automotive world with insightful car reviews and engaging interviews. Beyond the podcast, Farah's love for automobiles led him to co-found Westside Collector Car Storage, a premium facility catering to car collectors in Los Angeles. The reason I'm telling you all of this, is that WCCS offers a service to sell your car for you with one of the large auction websites. WCCS are representing the buyer for this 2022 Lucid Air.
