๐Ÿš— Will this Limited Edition Wagon Sell?

PLUS: Uber cool retro Fiat Panda is up for auction...

The Daily Vroom

Hey there Vroomers, happy Tuesday! ๐ŸŽ‰

For the 252 newcomers here โ€“ a warm welcome! Let me take a moment to introduce myself. I'm Sam, the driving force and enthusiast behind The Daily Vroom. My passion for all things automotive has fueled this platform, and I'm thrilled to share insights, stories, and updates with each of you.

Thanks for all the incredible feedback I received for yesterdayโ€™s newsletter on Augustโ€™s Deep Dive on all 4500+ sales. More deep dives to followโ€ฆ

Hereโ€™s what Iโ€™ve got for you today:

MARKET LEADERBOARD

๐Ÿ’ฐ The figures shared below donโ€™t count any other sales such as car seats, memorabilia etc..

I only include websites that have sold 5+ cars in the chart below. Which means Hagerty, PCarMarket, Hemmings and many others did not sell 5 cars yesterday!

Yesterday felt a tad slow on the sales front, with a total ringing in at 'just' $5.3 million. A few near-misses could've given a decent boost to several platforms' bottom lines. And, not to throw shade, but the smaller platforms didn't exactly bring their A-game.

But hey, Mondays are usually the underdogs of the sales week. Peeking into the future, I'm not spotting any auctions that scream "$1 million" to me. But you know what? I'm cool with that. Those ultra-pricey rides aren't really my jam. Give me those quirky, character-filled vehicles that don't require emptying my bank account any day. (see below for more quirky cars)

 ๐Ÿ”ฅ 2023 Mercedes-AMG E63 S Wagon Final Edition: Ultimate Wagon Alert!

Alright, folks, feast your eyes on this bad boy. It's the ultimate wagon for those who think one can NEVER have too many wagons.

๐Ÿš€ Super Duper Cool Factor:
This isn't just any AMG E63S Wagon. It's one of the 1 of 999 Final Edition Models. And guess what? It's basically brand new, showing off a mere 17 miles on the odometer. I mean, come on, can it get cooler than this?

๐Ÿ’ธ That 'Final Edition' Price Tag:
So, the MSRP here was a whopping $177,693. Now, I'm all in for the cool factor, but an additional $55k for that 'Final Edition' emblem and package? That's some pricey sticker love! But hey, exclusivity comes at a price, right?

๐Ÿค” To Buy or Not to Buy:
Here's where things get interesting. The car was only acquired in May 2023. A resale so soon? Makes you wonder. But then again, in the world of wagons, anything's possible. Can't wait to see where the bids go!

Final Thoughts:
You might think, "Do I need another wagon?" But then you look at this beauty and think, "How can I resist?" Will it be a wise investment, or is it just another trophy for the garage? Only time will tell. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿš€

Happy bidding, wagon lovers! And remember, you can never truly have enough wagons... or can you? ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ›’๐Ÿ

NEARLY SALE OF THE DAY

๐Ÿš€ 2021 Ford GT Studio Collection Series: To Sell or Not to Sell? ๐Ÿš€
Okay, Vroomers, let's dive deep into this one. The 2021 Ford GT Studio Collection Series is, without a doubt, a masterpiece on wheels. But it didn't sell today, despite a whopping highest bid of $946,000. So, what gives?

๐ŸŽ๏ธ The Car Itself:
This isn't just any Ford GT; it's one of the 20 Studio Collection series, which means it's ultra-rare. Dripping in a Frozen White finish, Ingot Silver graphics, and housing that beastly twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, it's a beauty and a beast. With only 752 miles on the clock, it's practically brand new!

๐Ÿ’ฐ That Bid Though:
So, the car went up, and the highest bid was $946,000. A lot of chatter suggests the seller should've jumped at that offer. But here's the thing - at this level of car collecting, it's not just about the money.

๐Ÿš— Passion Over Profit:
For many collectors, it's the love for the car, the thrill of ownership, and the joy of driving that counts. Can you put a price on passion? Well, the seller has, and clearly, he believes his ride is worth more.

๐Ÿ’น Investment Perspective:
There's a financial side to this too. The seller might be thinking long-term. While some might argue he should've taken the near-million-dollar bid and reinvested, he could be betting on the car's value appreciating over time. Given the rarity and allure of this model, he might not be wrong.

๐Ÿ”ฎ Future Speculation:
Sure, there's a risk the car might not fetch a higher price in the future, but there's also a good chance it will, especially as it's one of the limited Studio Collection series. And let's not forget, the sheer pleasure of owning and occasionally driving this marvel might be worth more to the seller than a quick cash-in.

Final Thoughts:
At the end of the day, car collecting is a blend of passion and investment. Sellers at this level know their game, and they're willing to play the long game. It'll be interesting to see what the future holds for this Ford GT. Will it reappear on the auction block? And if so, at what price? Only time will tell. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ๐ŸŽ๏ธ

๐Ÿ“š A Peek Into Its Past:
The latest pitstop was in Hong Kong at 88,000 km. Over the years, it's seen routine maintenance, a windscreen replacement, gearbox love, and those wheels got a nice spa treatment too!

The Final Lap:
The Subaru Impreza STi 22B is more than a car; it's a chapter from the rally legends. Fun Fact: The '22B' in its name? It's believed to reference the 2.2-liter engine and the Bilstein suspension. But with Subaru, there's always a sprinkle of mystery. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ

COMMUNITY CORNER

One of our readers posed a question that I reckon you might find intriguing.

I've recently spotted several of those small Japanese cars listed on various online auction platforms. What do you make of them?

Oliver Nolan

My answer was as follows:

Oh, you're diving into the delightful world of Kei cars! I've always had a soft spot for these pint-sized vehicles. They're not just compact; they pack a lot of character and fun into that tiny frame. Cars like the Honda Beat, which you mentioned, are just pure joy to drive. It's like having a slice of Japanese urban culture right on our roads.

Now, before you get too excited and place a bid, there are some practical aspects to consider. While they're fantastic vehicles, they might not pass emissions testing in some states due to their unique specifications. So, it's crucial to do your homework before bidding on one. Make sure it's a fit not just for your garage but also for your local regulations.

Budget-wise, if you're looking to get one, you're in luck. Generally speaking, with a keen eye, you can snag a very decent Kei car for less than $15k. And trust me, driving around town in a Honda Beat is an experience like no other! Just remember to wave back at all the curious onlookers admiring your unique ride!
